Pregnancy tips you must know

Being pregnant means you have another live or lives growing in your body,and changes will occur in your hormones. To sustain the foetus,you must adjust or change your habit.what you eat,what you wear and what you do matters.

So,let's talk about some tips that will help you and your baby stay healthy.


  • Take a prenatal vitamin and eat healthy foods like lentils, asparagus, oranges, fortified cereals ,fish bones in canned fish contains vitamin D and calcium

  • Limit your caffeine intake and cut back on alcohol and tobacco. 

  • .Use a chair that you can sit comfortably in and that has support for your lower back

  • You should sleep on your side with a pillow between your legs. Try and bend your knees or squat down to pick up things from the floor or from low places for your safety. 

  • Remember that your center of gravity and point of balance is changing. Place one foot on a low stool if you are going to be Standing's for a long time your chores  and avoid harsh or toxic cleaners, heavy lifting.

  • Drink plenty of fluids, preferably water, and wash your hands thoroughly when handling raw food.

  • Get comfortable shoes.


And what should we avoid during pregnancy.

  • Don't eat  large fish like  shark, swordfish, king mackerel or tilefish because it can increase your exposure to Mercury,you should reduce your intake of oily fish . Research  show that oily fish  can have pollutants such as dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls in them ,and it can affect the development of your unborn baby.

  • Don't eat undercooked or raw fish ,undercooked, raw, and processed meat ,raw eggs , Organ meat , raw sprouts .

  • Don't sleep in poor ventilated rooms, it may cause premature labour,  still birth, low birth weight, trouble concentrating, respiratory problems, and a higher risk of airborne infection such as tuberculosis.

  • Don't sleep under ceiling fan in a close room ,without opening your window  for fresh air, during your last trimester . The experts warned that sleeping in improperly ventilated rooms when pregnant can negatively affect the woman's health and that of the baby.

  • Avoid sleeping on your back, which can put the weight of your uterus on your spine and back muscles. But don't worry if you wake up on your back.


  • Don't take  any form of alcohol because it interfere with essential nutrients crossing the placenta and getting to the baby. The mother’s use of alcohol during any stage of pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of birth defects and developmental problems, collectively referred to as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs).

  • Don't be anxious. Anxiety are very common during pregnancy, and it may leads to loss of appetite , difficulty sleeping , irritability , and muscle tension . If anxiety begin to overwhelm you,learn how to control it for your health sake .
